Inspired by a tweet from @AlexCristache I decided to recreate his art piece. The result is an Observable Notebook that can generate this images using various configurations like the color interpolation mode.

Based on a photograph this algorithm reinterprets the image with fine drawn lines.

For a long time I had an idea to develop a digital kaleidoscope. After exploring a physics engine I took the chance to actually build it. Later on I reshaped it a bit to be used as a visual for a conference on a big led screen. Sadly the conference never happened :(
